How to go viral on Linkedin? The anatomy of a Linkedin post that performs well.

If you want to go viral on Linkedin you need to understand the meaning of viral. Content that goes viral is relatable, true, informative or helpful. If people love your content it goes viral. You need to meet 100% requirements of a post that performs well.

Below I have discussed 5 important points that help a post to perform well. You need to learn from the examples that I have attached below:

1. First 3 lines (15% out of 100)

These 3 lines are going to help people in decisions making to click on the SEE MORE button to read your entire post. You need to make your first 3 lines real, interesting, surprising, shocking or something that touches their emotions. But remember to be real.

In my case:

I started this post with 3 lines that may catch the attention of people. This was a real-life incident, I started with the point of conversation. I added a hook in the first line and then started talking about it. The reason people will click on the SEE MORE button is because of curiosity.

2. The body ~ message (20% out of 100)

What message you want to share in your post, matters a lot. Make sure to make the message of your post worth sharing.

3. Hold the attention (25% out of 100)

The moment you got them to real first few lines of your posts, make sure to hold their attention while doing this:

👉 Giving them new information

👉 Touching on their emotions

👉 Helping to make their life better

4. CTA (15% out of 100)

If you don’t have at least 1 CTA you will miss them in the end. Hence ask them a question, tell a behind story or allow them to explore your profile. I have added 2 questions so that they can answer in the comments.

5. Add media: picture, GIF or video (25% out of 100)

Make sure to add some media as well with your Linkedin posts. You need to give them multiple reasons for reading you. When you add any picture, GIF, document or video in your post that gets extra attention.

Last but not least understand that it is not about viral posts, it’s about your consistency. I have viral posts every week but along with this, I have some posts that are not performing well. So the growth always goes up and down in the graph. You need to promise yourself to be consistent and make posts for IMPACT.
